Hey there, time traveller!

I applaud the Brandon Police Service for thinking outside the box to apprehend offenders who remain at large in our community.
Using creativity and humour in a recent Facebook post that pokes fun at some common Valentine’s Day themes was a timely reminder that criminals are actively evading police while continuing to harm other members of our community. Urging their former partners to turn them in on Valentine’s Day is a cheeky and hopefully effective tactic.
Law enforcement agencies in countless other jurisdictions have effectively used humour and viral videos to spread their message while actively pursuing perpetrators. It would be tone deaf to assume this video is anything other than good, clean fun by the hard-working members of the Brandon Police Service trying to maintain safety in the community while showing empathy for the victims of ongoing criminal activity.
One vocal minority versus over a MILLION views between Facebook and Instagram with countless likes and comments, the overwhelming number being positive speaks volumes. I’m willing to bet a million to one that society agrees with the Brandon Police Service’s message. Keep up the outstanding work BPS.
WAYNE BALCAEN
