Special thanks to all the volunteers, friends and supporters who attended the appreciation evening held for us on Oct. 18, at the Victorian Inn.

Special thanks to the organizing committee for planning such a wonderful evening. We were completely overwhelmed by the large crowd that came to help us celebrate and the countless words of thanks and best wishes.

We have always believed that our volunteerism was never about us, but rather about the people who we were helping. That said, we are so humbled and grateful for the support shown to us that evening. We have always felt that strong community support, but it was so special to have everyone come together that evening. We can all be proud of the number of families we were able to help and the impact we had on the community.

We wish to thank the MC Blair Filyk from Meighen Haddad, Mayor Shari Decter Hirst, MLA Drew Caldwell, our daughter-in-law Becky Grambo and Murray Tallant, who represented the Lions Clubs in Brandon and the Lions Club International Foundation, for their kind words.

Murray Tallant, on behalf of the LCIF, presented a plaque and a letter bestowing on Arnold the title of Melvin Jones Fellow. His name has been added to the extensive list that resides in Oak Brook, Ill., at Lions Club International Foundation Headquarters. This is indeed an honour that we will never forget.

We had a wonderful evening and we sincerely thank you all for your genuine show of kindness.

Thanks also to all of you who telephoned, sent cards and letters, stopped us on the street or spoke to us at church. You have been a blessing.

ARNOLD & MARILYN GRAMBO

Brandon
