Thanks for clearing the way

I would like to extend a big thank you to the residents on the 300-block of 14th Street for cleaning the snow off of the sidewalk during the winter. This is from someone who walks those sidewalks.

The puck should stop here

I really think the hockey tournament this weekend should have been cancelled. This is a total insensitivity to what is happening with the flood. As a resident and hockey supporter, you have lost my support forever.

$50,000 is an unrealistic fine

Our mayor is encouraging people to not be around the flood zone, just loitering or taking photos etc., or they may receive a fine of up to $50,000. In my opinion, for what it is worth, $50,000 is far from being realistic. You will never collect that. If you were to fine them for maybe $500, you would have more people abiding by the decision.

Time to get out the rollerblades

We have to do something about these ridiculous gas prices. It is time we band together and park our vehicles and bus it, walk it, bike it, rollerblade it, whatever. That is the only way we are going to bring prices down.

Do as I say, not as I do?

The mayor keeps making threats about people being near the dikes and the flood danger zone, but she keeps holding press conferences and photo ops there. How can she expect people to follow rules that she keeps breaking?
