Impressed with Hawks

Last week when the Portland Winterhawks were in town, we were in a restaurant when they came in to eat. They were well-dressed, respectful, polite and well-behaved. It certainly raises the image of junior hockey.

Getting stoned

Re: 17th Street East south of Richmond Avenue. The companies need to be informed that they shouldn’t drag gravel out of their lots and leave it on the paved street. Maybe a bylaw officer could look into it before someone gets a cracked windshield.

May karma catch up to you

To the evil individual who was prowling around my neighbourhood and took my wallet out of the van. Hope you enjoyed the $30 that was in there and you can’t use my bank card anyway. May all the hackers in the world wreak havoc on you.

Police service above and beyond

I would like to thank the police officer who, at the end of his shift, took the time on Thanksgiving Day to show my three-year-old grandson a police car. He was thrilled! It made both our day. Here’s our Thanksgiving appreciation to Brandon’s police service.

Paying a lot already

I am a landlord, in business and I pay taxes — a lot of taxes! And we only get one per cent on our rent this year. And now they are taking away our garbage and we have to pay for it after five years and we only get supplements. I don’t think so! I. Pay. For. It!

Shame on you, grandchildren!

The residential school money was supposed to be for grandparents. But in some cases, grandchildren are taking advantage by abusing the situation and even threatening to take grandparents’ bank cards. Grandchildren, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Think about it — you wouldn’t be here had it not been for them. That is their money. Leave them alone already!

An inconsiderate statement

In reply to “Cheap Housing Or Cheap Seniors” Sound Off. I feel the writer of this is very out of touch with what is going on with the seniors and is very inconsiderate of others in general because it is something I feel people are entitled to.

Thanks for the new dog park

I would like to pay a compliment to the City of Brandon and the Lions Club for the great dog park they put up on the North Hill. Thanks so much.
