Raegan Yewdall of the Winnipeg Ice and Liza Vigier of the Eastman Selects were named the Manitoba Female Hockey League under-18 AAA players of the week.
Yewdall notched seven points over two games, including an astounding six-point night — two goals, four assists — in Winnipeg’s 8-3 win over the Pembina Valley Hawks Friday. The Grade 11 student from Winnipeg followed up Friday’s performance with a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 4-0 win over the Central Plains Capitals.
Vigier scored 10 points over three games last week. She had two goals and added an assist in a 3-1 win over the Ice Wednesday. The Grade 12 student from Beausejour added another goal and three helpers in a 7-0 win over Central Plains Friday, and two goals and an assist in a 5-3 win over Pembina Valley on Saturday.
Morgan Baker of the Winnipeg Ice was named the goalie of the week following a two solid performances. Baker, a Grade 11 student from Petersfield, had a goals-against average of 1.55 and a .929 save percentage in two games against Pembina Valley and Central Plains.
