Every builder knows that no material supports a building like a sturdy steel frame. The same can be said about the support that U-Build Steel Buildings provides for their clients in all their contracting needs.
U-Build Steel Buildings has long been a member of the Westman family, and a proud member of the WGI (Westman Group Inc.). Its roots are found in Winkler MB, where in 1968 they originally opened their doors under the name Nusteel Industries. After re-branding in January 2017, U-build Steel Buildings was relocated to Brandon where it re-opened under a new name as a sales branch of BEHLEN Industries. Brandon has become the company’s base of operations housing not only their headquarters but their manufacturing facility and customer service centre. Winkler, their original home, still plays a role in its operations by being the location for the U-Build Steel Buildings sales and detailing office.
The company manufactures and sells steel building systems mainly for agricultural, commercial and industrial application. The company’s unique business model allows them to reach 3 different business channels: internet traders, contractors and end users. This step to include multiple channels of businesses has not only expanded their reach, but has increased their accessibility for different consumers. Additionally, U-Build Steel Buildings provides a complementary line of products that includes Insulated Metal Panels, doors, insulation and structural panels for strong thermal protection for the harsh Manitoba winters.
With the changing business landscape in the current pandemic, U-Build has not been deterred from striving to support local businesses. The company has adapted by adhering to provincial regulations (social distancing, masks when needed and sanitizing stations) and most of the office staff has begun working remotely to reduce the risk of exposure. Remote work however has not stopped regular operations, but has increased the company’s opportunities to incorporate technology and social media into regular business practice. Through consolidation with BEHLEN industries, U-Build has been on the technological fast track advancing in areas of software implementation, robotics and welding.
U-Build has also embarked on a new campaign via their Youtube channel called. “Made in Canada- Supporting Canadian Business”. The company’s Director, Rosa Villamizar explained the purpose of this initiative which was put in place to help highlight the efforts of Canadian business owners affected by Covid-19.
“This originated out of concern about the Canadian economy during this pandemic.” she said. U-Build Steel Buildings as a member of the WGI Group is deeply invested in assisting and contributing to the success of local businesses. Shining a spotlight on the way Canadian business owners are adapting to the “new normal”, is one of the many ways the team at U-Build is supporting the success of Canadian entrepreneurs.
“I truly believe that there are a lot of meaningful stories to tell of great Canadian entrepreneurs…So we created a social media space to somehow make a contribution to the local economy and try to connect with Canadian businesses in a more authentic way. This is more a documentation, not a heavily produced film production, just Zoom conversations like many of us are doing to keep our businesses going.” She explained further.
The desire to assure customer satisfaction is seen in the wide range of products offered to meet the different needs of the everyday contractor. This team of highly motivated staff are dedicated to ensuring that you have all the help you need when embarking on your building projects no matter the size. From ambitious building projects to building a simple structure like a garage, U- Build is committed to being a supportive ally for Canadian businesses through these unprecedented times
“At U-Build, we try to exceed customer expectations in terms of customer service. We uphold the values of: Integrity, Respect, High Quality Standards and a dedication to Support local businesses and the local economy.” said Rosa Villamizar.
In times like these where there is uncertainty and the future looks unclear, the team at U-Build Steel Buildings are proudly standing by to support Canadian business owners. With a team of dedicated employees, spearheaded by leadership who is committed to exceeding customer expectations; U-Build Steel Buildings is the ideal partner to help with your next building project.
