Manitoba finished sixth overall at the Canada Summer Games as the event drew to a close on Sunday in Niagara, Ont.
The Keystone province earned 10 gold, 10 silver and 17 bronze medals at the event, which kicked off on Aug. 6 with opening ceremonies.
Ontario topped the medal standings with 198, followed by Quebec (142), British Columbia (128), Alberta (111), Nova Scotia (56), Manitoba, Saskatchewan (32), New Brunswick (19), Newfoundland and Labrador (9), Prince Edward Island (2) and Nunavut (1). Northwest Territories and Yukon failed to earn a medal.
On teams with Westman competitors, the girls’ soccer squad, which includes Sydney and Kendra Schram of Brandon, fell 3-0 to British Columbia in a consolation semifinal Saturday.
At the Legends of the Niagara golf course, Dauphin’s Eric Prokopowich tied for 11th in the boys golf event after carding a 71 to finish with a four-round total (77-74-74-71) of 296, tying him with Matthew Walter Martel of Ontario.
On the girls side, Killarney’s Cala Korman finished in 13th place after shooting 79 on Saturday for a four-round total (78-77-82-79) of 316.
