Brad Jacobs will play third for Reid Carruthers full time in the 2023-24 curling season.
The former Olympic champion from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., joined the Manitoba-based team for the rest of the Pinty’s GrandSlam of Curling schedule after it parted ways with Jason Gunnlaugson in January.
He was unable to take part in February’s Viterra Championship in Neepawa, as he had already qualified for the Northern Ontario men’s provincial championship.
The Carruthers team, which also includes Derek Samagalski of Carberry at second and Connor Njegovan at lead, made it to the Viterra final as a trio but lost to Matt Dunstone.
They went 4-4 at the Brier in London, Ont., as a Wild Card squad earlier this month and missed the playoffs.
