The Assiniboine Community College Cougars remain undefeated following a two-game sweep of the visiting University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Now playing league games out of J&G Arena with the closure of the Sportsplex, the Cougars improved to 7-0 with 8-0 and 9-0 victories.

In the team’s Nov. 18 home opener, Billie Baranyk, Brooklyn Franklin and Payton Malchuk each scored twice en route to a 9-0 triumph. Single markers went to Kylee Emms-Finnsson, Jensen Shearer and Madison Haliuk. Goaltender Geneva Penner earned the goose egg.

Baranyk had another two-goal effort against Eau Claire on Nov. 19, with teammate Lexy Waddell also finding the back of the net twice. Solo efforts were turned in by Gracie Carels, Kathryn Fischer, Brooklyn Franklin and Emma Ramsey.

After seven games, the Cougars have scored 53 goals, while only allowing four.

Playing a 22-game regular season, the Cougars are back in action on Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. when the team hosts Dakota College at Bottineau Lady Jacks. ACC then heads across the border the following day for a 4 p.m. tilt.
