• 40 YEARS AGO — Grant Griffith and Rick DeGagne both scored 22 points to lead Curly’s to a 98-71 win over the Killarney Fighting Irish in a Brandon Senior Men’s Basketball League game. Tom Price hooped 31 points for the Fighting Irish, while teammate Bruce Lyons chipped in with 24 points.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Derek Gilbert fired three goals as the Brandon Stingers trounced the Souris Elks 9-0 in a Manitoba Junior B Hockey League game. Kirk Keddie and Jason Glutek each added two goals, while Shawn Cook and Jason Burtnick chipped in with singles.
• 10 YEARS AGO — With Curtis Honey sidelined due to injury, the Brandon Wheat Kings acquired Christopher Tai from the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a conditional eighth-round pick in the 2015 draft.
