A four-goal performance by Winkler Flyers Jayce Legaarden earned the second-year forward player of the week honours in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Legaarden paced the Flyers’ offence in a 7-2 victory over the Steinbach Pistons, their only game of the week.

Other Week 9 player of the week honours went to Neepawa Titans forward Cody Gudnason and Portage Terriers forward Slade Stanick.

Gudnason played a key role in the Titans recent three-game win streak, scoring once and adding three helpers in a 5-3 road win over the Niverville Nighthawks.

Stanick helped guide the Terriers to pick up five of a possible six points to lift the Terriers to a second-place tie in the East Division heading into week 10 of the regular season thanks to his five-point effort.
