The Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League is hosting a two-day showcase event in Winnipeg starting Dec. 2.

The top 68 players from the league will compete in the new format four-game best-on-best tournament at the Hockey For All Centre.

Among the Westman-area players selected for this tournament are 14 from the first-place Brandon Wheat Kings (16-0-1-0), forwards Brady Turko, Jaxon Jacobson, Easton Odut, Colten Worthington, Ethan Stewart and Loughlan McMullan; defencemen Owen Wallace, , Dustin Bell and Kaeson Fisher and Josh McGregor; and goalies Matthew Michta and Burke Hood.

The Southwest Cougars have six players involved, forward Regan Anderson, defencemen Jackson Kohut and Jack Swaenpoel, all of Souris, goalie Micky Gross of Cornwallis, defenceman Ryder Heaphy of Killarney and forward Sebastian Stone of Boissevain,

Russell forward Hayden Seib and Brandon’s Ethan McMullan of the Parkland Rangers, and Virden defenceman Hudson Davidson and Brandonite Quinn Schutte of the Yellowhead Chiefs, are also among the 68 players selected to play.

Games on Dec. 2 are scheduled for 5 and 8 p.m., while Dec. 3 has action starting at noon and 3 p.m.
