Rookie Drew Russell of the Interlake Lightning is the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League player of the week.

Russell’s recent weekend offensive exploits saw him score two goals and earn two assists. While his linemates also found the back of the net, Russell’s contributions stood out. The Grade 11 student is a prospect for the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

In 18 games, Russell has eight goals and 14 points. His offensive totals include three goals and two assists on the Lightning power play.
