Overtime and shootout heroics for her team earned Hannah Reagh of the Yellowhead Chiefs weekly honours in the U18 AAA Manitoba Female Hockey League.
A 12th grader from Binscarth, she has been a key player on the Chiefs currently enjoying a five-game winning streak.
Reagh continues to play big minutes during games, including seeing time on the power play and penalty kill.
During recent weekend action, Reagh dug deep on against the resilient Central Plains Capitals and scored twice in a shootout to help her team secure two points.
She continued with her tenacious play the following day against the league-leading Winnipeg Ice. Reagh scored the first goal of the game and scored again just 10 seconds into overtime to help the Chiefs hand the Ice their first home ice loss of the season, and move her team into second-place in the eight-team league.
Rachel Halldorson of the Interlake Lightning earned goalie of the week honours.
She was instrumental in backstopping against the Winnipeg Avros for a 2-1 victory, stopping 37 of 38 shots, including 16 in the second period.
This win allowed the sixth-place Bolts to pick up their sixth win of the season and established a new win record for Interlake.
The 12th grader from Lundar has played 12 games this season, and sports a 4-6-0 record, 2.10 GAA and .945 save percentage.
