It was a clean sweep for the Crocus Plainsmen in girls’ high school basketball league action on Tuesday.
In the junior varsity contest, Iliana Courchene, Abi Cadegan Syms and Kardyn Rowan each scored nine points to pace their team to a 40-31 win over the Neelin Spartans.
Neelin was led by Layla Desjardin, with nine points, while Elli Pomehichuk added seven. Kylie Kulman had a game-high 25 points to lead the Crocus varsity squad to a 62-57 win over the Spartans.
Rebecca Alebiosu Adiamo added 15 in the victory, while Neelin’s offence was supplied by Kruz Wilson, with a team-high 15 points, while Claire Foerster added 13.
With the sweep last night, the final varsity league standings have Crocus in first, Neelin in second and Vincent Massey in third.
In the final JV league standings, Neelin is first, Crocus is second and Vincent Massey is third. JV and varsity playoffs start on Feb. 20 with the following second versus third games: JV Crocus host Vincent Massey at 6 p.m.
The varsity game at 7:45 p.m. will feature Neelin hosting Vincent Massey.
