The Canadian Elite Hockey League selected Brandon Wheat Kings sniper Jaxon Jacobson as its 2023-24 player of the year.

The 2008-born forward recorded an incredible 136 points in 48 games, including 49 goals in the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League.

The first-round draft pick of the Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings finished the regular season on a 14-game point streak, accumulating 47 points during this span.

Jacobson and his teammates leave on Saturday for the seven-day Telus Cup U18 AAA national championships being held in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia starting on April 22.

Ethan Dickson of the Kensington Wild was named the CEHL’s forward of the year

He led his U18 AAA east coast league with 47 goals and 120 points in 56 games. He won the league scoring race by 20 points.

Dayne Beuker from the U18 AAA Sasktoon Blazers was named the CEHL’s rookie of the year

The 2008-born forward recorded an impressive 99 points in 58 games, which included 48 goals.

He finished the regular season atop the highly competitive Saskatchewan U18 AAA League.
