Hey there, time traveller!

Hockey Manitoba has invited 13 players from the U18 AAA Westman Wildcats and Yellowhead Chiefs to the three-day female U18 Program of Excellence (POE) top-68 camp starting on June 7.
The camp is in Winnipeg at the Scotiabank Hockey For All Centre, and features plenty of players who know each other from the U18 AAA Manitob Female Hockey League. Forty-nine of the 68 involved play in the MFHL.
This camp will be the first phase of Hockey Manitoba’s female U18 POE which is designed to provide high performance female players with an opportunity to develop advanced skills as well as an introduction to the concepts needed to play at an elite level.
Players from the POE go on to play at the U Sport, NCAA as well as international level with the national team program.
This year’s remale U18 POE top-68 camp invited 36 forwards, 24 defenders and eight goaltenders.
Westman Wildcats forward Reese Schutte would have been involved, but had to decline the invitation after sustaining a shoulder injury at the National Indigenous Hockey Championship held in Grande Prairie, Alta, where Team Manitoba earned a bronze along with Team B.C. after nearby wildfires forced the cancellation of their bronze medal game.
The top-68 camp will see athletes participating in intra-squad exhibition games and a goalie skill session designed to provide instructions on skills and concepts directly related to the female Team Manitoba Principles of Play.
All programming throughout the duration of the camp will be led by the female U18 coaching staff, which includes U15 AAA Brandon Wheat Kings coach Karissa Kirkup.
Following this camp, approximately 40 players will be invited to the three-day POE top-40 camp at the same venue as the top-68 camp starting on July 5.
The third stage of the female U18 POE process will see Team Manitoba compete in an exhibition series against the University of Manitoba Bisons women’s hockey team in late September or early October.
Local players invited to the opening POE camp include:
• Westman Wildcats – forward – Paige Crossley, Ivy Perkin, Shayla Scinocca; defence – Callie Hilburst.
• Yellowhead Chiefs – forward – Kirby Gray, Tara Knight, Emma Pollock, Jordyn Veitch; defence – Brooklyn Cochrane, Grace Kirk, Erica Miko.
There were no goaltenders from either team invited to the U18 camp.
