It was a great start Friday afternoon for the Brandon Marlins during Day 1 of Baseball Manitoba’s 15U AAA provincial qualifying tournament in Glenboro. Outfielder Cason Burton was jammed on this pitch, but still managed to push the ball for a hit during his team’s 14-5 win over Oildome. Pitcher Cash Hunter earned the victory.
Brandon Marlins shortstop Lucas Gamache was injured on this play after sliding home for an inside-the-park homerun, with his team going on to post a 14-5 win over Oildome. Looking on are Oildome catcher Jonah Artz and Marlins third baseman Karter Hermenegildo. The Marlins improved to 2-0 after erasing a 3-0 deficit to defeat Midwest 12-3 during their second game. Action resumes today and concludes on Sunday.
Oildome second baseman Jayce Dales bobbled the incoming throw from his catcher Jonah Artz which allowed Brandon Marlins outfielder Cason Burton to be called safe on his second inning steal. Burton and his teammates would open the three-day Baseball Manitoba 15U AAA provincial qualifying tournament with a 14-5 win over Oildome, then defeated Midwest 12-3 after starting the game down 3-0.
