Injured Brandon Wheat Kings forward Roger McQueen is one of six Western Hockey League players who have received an ‘A’ rating from Central Scouting in their preliminary players to watch list that was released Wednesday.

McQueen, who had eight goals and three assists in eight games, hasn’t played since a road game on Oct. 11 against the Medicine Hat Tigers, and is listed as week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

The six-foot-five Saskatoon product also missed a month last season with an upper-body-injury.

The ‘A’ rating indicates a potential first-round candidate: The other WHLers who made the grade are Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman Blake Fiddler of Frisco, Texas, Moose Jaw Warriors forward Lynden Lakovic of West Kelowna, B.C., Prince George Cougars goalie Joshua Ravensbergen of North Vancouver, B.C., Victoria Royals forward Cole Reschny of Macklin, Sask., and Tri-City Americans defenceman Jackson Smith of Calgary.

In total, 55 WHL players earned a grade, with ‘B’ rated players expected to go in the second or third round. ‘C’ rated players projected as fourth or fifth-round picks and a ‘W’ rating indicates a player who could go in the sixth or seventh round.

Wheat Kings forward Carter Klippenstein of Lethbridge received a ‘C’ grade, while Wheat Kings forward Joby Baumuller of Wilcox, Sask., Regina Pats forward Cole Temple of Brandon and Vancouver Giants goalie Burke Hood of Brandon all received ‘W’ grades.

In total, 11 Manitobans received a grade, and 155 Canadian Hockey League players were included.
