The Brandon Wheat Kings (20-6-0-1) snapped a season-high three-game losing streak as they met the East Division’s third-place Winnipeg Wild Red (14-10-0-1) and first-place Eastman Selects (22-3-2-1) in U15 AAA Winnipeg Hockey League on the weekend

On Sunday afternoon at Landmark Arena, Kevin Knee, Ethan Chen and Carson Fowler scored as Brandon tied Eastman 3-3.

Cooper Dryden made 31 saves while Alex Saurette was tested just 14 times.

On Saturday at J&G Homes Arena, the Wheat Kings took out some frustration on Wild Red, thumping them 9-1.

Kevin Knee had two goals and two assists, William Marvin had two goals, Brayden Watt had a goal and two assists, and Ethan Chen, Cashton Chastellaine, Sullivan Taylor and Mason Woychyshyn also sniped. Etienne Visser added four assists.

Cooper Dryden made 21 saves for Brandon, with Easton Paré blocking 30 shots for Winnipeg.

Brandon, which leads the West Division, has five games remaining in the regular season, with their sole action next weekend coming when the Yellowhead Chiefs visit J&G Homes Arena on Sunday at 2:15 p.m.

In the U15 AAA Manitoba Female Hockey League, the sixth-place Wheat Kings (10-13-1) fell to the fifth-place Westman Wildcats (11-11-2) at J&G Homes Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Rachel Lyver gave the Wheat Kings the lead but Abbey Oliver tied it and Chloe Astle’s unassisted shorthanded goal with 10 seconds left in the second period was the winner in a 2-1 Westman victory.

Brandon, which has five games remaining in the regular season, visits Thompson’s C.A. Nesbitt Arena to meet the Norman Wild on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
