Rebecca Alebiosu knocked down six three-pointers to lead the Crocus Plainsmen to a 72-38 win over the Selkirk Royals in their second game of the Coffee Culture Java Jam at Crocus on Friday.
Alebiosu finished with a game-high 32 points while Kate Hiebert added 15 for the Plainsmen.
Crocus finished second in Pool A, falling 88-25 to the province’s top-ranked varsity girls basketball team, the Vincent Massey Trojans in their evening game.
The Neelin Spartans lost both of their games, first 68-39 to the Warren Wildcats with Danielle Asham posting a team-high 15 points while Colby Darragh had 30 for Warren.
Neelin fell 55-29 to Kelvin in its second game.
The Wildcats were playing the Vincent Massey Vikings for first in Pool B in at game that ended after deadline.
The Trojans meet the winner today at Crocus at 3:05 p.m.
The Plainsmen play the loser for third at 1:20 p.m.
In the junior varsity event, Crocus faces River East in today’s final at Neelin at 3:05 p.m.
The Plainsmen dropped St. Paul’s Collegiate 54-23 as Kinsley Penner scored 14 points and Courtney Giesbrecht chipped in 11.
Then, they knocked off the Royals 56-45 as Penner and Giesbrecht combined for 31.
