Boissevain’s Danika Nell dazzled in her Boston University softball debut Friday morning.

The rookie had eight strikeouts and gave up just two hits in five innings of shutout softball to open the Boston University Terriers season.

Nell and the Terriers came away with the 6-0 win over the Long Island University Sharks before a 3-0 shutout of Boston College in Friday’s doubleheader in Fort Myers, Fla.

The 2024 H.L. (Krug) Crawford winner as Brandon Sun’s sportsperson of the year, Nell is in her first season with Boston University after making her international debut with Team Canada this past March.
