30 YEARS AGOByron Penstock stopped 23 shots in a 5-0 win over the Saskatoon Blades to post his fourth shutout of the season, equalling a Brandon Wheat Kings club record set by Glen Hanlon in 1975-76 and again during the 1976-77 WHL campaign.

20 YEARS AGO Kortney Stanley’s buzzer-beating three gave the Crocus Plainsmen varsity girls basketball team a 46-43 win over the North Battleford Vikings in the consolation final of the Moose Jaw Invitational. Stanley led the Plainsmen with 19 points on the night but broke the tie with her three-point shot as the buzzer sounded.

10 YEARS AGOJordan Greig of Souris set up both of the goals for the Virden Oil Capitals as they edged the visiting Waywayseecappo Wolverines 2-1 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League on Thursday night.
