The Canadian men’s national soccer team now has a familiar name for Bobcat Nation.
Brandon University Bobcat basketball legend Patrick Jebbison’s son Daniel was named to the senior national team’s roster on Wednesday, for the CONCACAF Nations League Finals.
Patrick played for the Bobcats in the 1980s, guiding them to three straight U Sports – then Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union — titles in 1987-89. He was named national player of the year in 1988 and 1989.
Daniel was born in Oakville, Ont., and moved to England, playing for Sheffield United and working his way up to a Premier League debut in 2021.
