Mitchell Hill scored midway through the third period in a tie Game 4 on Saturday afternoon to lift the Winnipeg Bruins to a 3-2 victory in Game 4 and a sweep of the Brandon Wheat Kings in the best-of-seven U17 AAA Winnipeg Hockey League final.
Matthew Dupuis and Kendrick Breemersch scored for Brandon, which led 2-1 after the first period at J&G Homes Arena.
Winnipeg’s Joel Vermette also scored in the opening frame and James Nicholls tied it late in the second period, with Mason Chubey — a prospect of the Western Hockey League’s Wheat Kings — drawing an assist.

Brandon’s Urijah Moosetail made 39 saves, with Winnipeg’s Zack Houtkooper turning aside 26 shots.
In Game 2 at J&G Homes Arena on Tuesday, Owen Stanley opened the scoring in the second period, but Damian Dnes tied it before the middle frame ended and Hill scored the winning goal 28 seconds into the third period, with Ethan Walterson adding a late tally in a 3-1 Bruins win.
Moosetail made 24 saves, with Houtkooper turning aside 28 shots.
In Game 3 at Southdale Community Centre on Thursday, the Bruins went up 2-0 in the first period on goals by Joel Vermette and Dnes, but Benjamin Sveistrup and Stanley scored to tie it.
The dagger came in overtime when Winnipeg’s Triton Joudrey sniped early in double overtime for a 3-2 Bruins win.

Brandon’s Sawyer Wallin made 30 saves, with Winnipeg’s Noah Cesmystruk stopping 23 shots.
The Bruins opened the series at Southdale Community Centre on March 16 with a 4-3 win.
The first-place Bruins finished with an impressive record of 32 wins and two ties in the regular season and then swept all 10 games they played in the post-season.
Second-place Brandon went 30-3 with two ties — the losses and one of the ties were to the Bruins — and the Wheat Kings were 6-0 in the playoffs entering the final.
