The Ste. Anne Aces are Manitoba’s senior A hockey champions after sweeping the Killarney Shamrocks in the best-of-three provincial final with a 6-5 overtime victory on Saturday.
Stephane Pattyn scored six minutes into overtime on Saturday in Killarney as the Aces pulled out a 6-5 victory. The three-time South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League champions received a hat trick from former Brandon Wheat Kings forward Brenden Walker. Killarney received two goals from Bryce Enns and singles from Ty Enns, Rylan Gudnason and Kyle Peters.
Killarney netminder Brian Archibald made 61 saves in the loss, with Ste. Anne’s Travis Bosch turning aside 29 shots.
The Aces won 4-2 in Game 1 on March 30 in Ste. Anne with an empty-net goal.
