The Brandon duo of Grant Kehler and Jaxson Lawrence finished sixth this week at Youth Bowling Canada’s national championship in Edmonton.
The duo, who were competing in bantam boys doubles, averaged a combined 286.76 over 21 games, with Kehler throwing 140.05 and Lawrence at 146.71. The winners, Brady McGuire and Andrew Martin of Paradise, N.L., ran with the event by averaging 357.57, more than 20 pins clear of the runners-up.
In bantam girls 10-pin action, Alexis Cairns also finished sixth, averaging 162.17 pins in 12 games, with a high of 206.
