Manitoba’s female box lacrosse squad wrapped up its tournament with a 3-1 win against Quebec in the fifth-place game at the Canada Games on Friday in St. John’s, N.L.
McCreary’s Karlee Kohlman tallied an assist in the game’s opening goal in the second period, which was scored by Manitoba’s captain Jaden Loeppky.
Team Manitoba’s male baseball club dropped its last game of the tournament on Friday, losing out to Team Alberta 4-0 and placing sixth in the country overall.
Brandon’s Cason Burton threw 19 pitches, and Reston’s Jamie Williamson saw three innings of action in the loss, which saw Manitoba give up two runs each in the fourth and seventh innings of the ballgame.
