Angela Fetsch scored twice as the Assiniboine College Cougars earned their second victory of the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference women’s soccer season on Sunday.
The Cougars beat the host Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 2-1 to improve to 2-6-0.
The Cougars lost 14-0 to the Providence Pilots on Saturday.
The Assiniboine men (0-8-0) lost 2-0 to Providence on Saturday and 5-0 to the Blazers on Sunday.
The Brandon University Bobcats had split results on the weekend.
The BU men (5-2-0) fell 2-1 to the St. Boniface Les Rouges on Saturday. T.J. Bodunrin scored the lone BU goal.
Brandon beat Providence 2-1 on Sunday.
The Bobcat women (6-1-0) blanked Les Rouges 6-0, but suffered their first loss of the season 4-3 to the Pilots as Halle Owen netted a hat trick for the hosts in Otterburne.
BU hosts CMU this Saturday at the Healthy Living Centre field, then welcomes AC to the HLC the following day. The women’s games start at 1 p.m., with the men following at 3:15.
