The Brandon Wheat Kings are back down to two goalies after they reassigned Hudson Perry on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old netminder, who hails from Sexsmith, Alta., was acquired from the Edmonton Oil Kings at the trade deadline for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2027 and won the backup job behind Jayden Kraus in the pre-season.

The six-foot-two, 173-pound goalie appeared in one game, a 5-0 loss to his former club on Oct. 4. His days were numbered when Czech goalie Filip Ruzicka arrived in Brandon on Sept. 29 after his transfer was finally secured. He’ll rejoin the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Drayton Valley Thunder, where he played last season after the Oil Kings sent him down.
