The Assiniboine College Cougars pitched a pair of shutouts on the weekend, blanking the visiting Jamestown Jimmies at the Sportsplex on the weekend in the opening week of American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 action.

On Sunday, Jenna Walker had the lone goal and Clair Merckx made 17 saves in the 1-0 victory. Jane Sugimoto made 31 saves for Jamestown.

On Saturday, Isabelle Gottselig, Walker, Montana Jubenvill, Kasey Fouillard and Alexis Campbell all sniped and Rachel Halldorson made 35 saves in a 5-0 win. Makenzie Gibson made 27 saves for the Jimmies.

The teams meet in Jamestown next weekend for another doubleheader.
