Ella Averill scored 18 points and added 11 rebounds as the Brandon University Bobcats women’s basketball team beat the Lethbridge Pronghorns 69-65 in Canada West action in Alberta on Saturday.
Macaya Copeland scored a game-high 20 points as the Bobcats improved to 3-1. Piper Ingalls dropped 16 points for Brandon.
The BU men (2-2) fell 85-72 as Sultan Bhatti netted 23 points and Munroop Gill added 15.
In Friday’s late game, Bhatti scored 27 points while Max Winters added 12 in Brandon’s 85-77 win.
The Bobcats host the Calgary Dinos this Friday and Saturday.
