• 30 YEARS AGO Julie Halls had 16 kills to lead the Vincent Massey Vikings to a 3-0 sweep of the Kildonan East Reivers at the St. Vital Invitational varsity girls’ high school volleyball tournament.

• 20 YEARS AGO Kyle Wells’ hat-trick highlighted an offensive explosion by the Brandon Midget AAA Wheat Kings as they hammered the host Yellowhead Chiefs 11-2 to improve to 8-2-0 atop the West Division standings.

• 10 YEARS AGO Johl Swedlo scored the only goal in a seven-round shootout as the Waywayseecappo Wolverines beat the Swan Valley Stampeders 3-2 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
