The Assiniboine College Cougars earned a pair of victories in three American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 games over the weekend at H.A. Thompson and Sons Arena in Fargo, N.D.

On Sunday, Kylee Emms-Finnsson scored twice and Madison Haliuk, Isabelle Gottselig, Katie Falkevitch and Brooke Cyr also sniped as the Cougars (5-2-0-0) beat the University of Minnesota Duluth 6-1.

Rachel Halldorson made 16 saves for AC, while UMD’s Lucy Whitehead faced 80 shots.

On Saturday, the Cougars dropped a 1-0 decision to the defending champion Sault College: Katelynn Jacques scored the game’s only goal early in the second period.

Sault’s Farrah Farstad made 17 saves for the shutout, while AC’s Clair Merckx stopped 34 shots.

On Friday, Kasey Fouillard scored twice and Jenna Walker, Kadence Cress, Haliuk and Victoria Mann added singles as the Cougars beat North Dakota State University 6-1.

Rachel Halldorson made 15 saves for AC, with NDSU’s Rithima Chattajallu stopping an incredible 73 shots, including the 33 saves she made in the first period alone.
