Sultan Bhatti scored 16 points as the Brandon University Bobcats men’s basketball team lost 89-81 to the Alberta Golden Bears in Canada West action in Edmonton on Saturday.
Arjun Hehar added 13 for BU, while
Kyle Varner led Alberta with 20 points.
The Bobcats lost 92-89 in Friday’s late game when Bhatti missed a three-pointer in the dying seconds.
Bhatti led BU with 17 points on 16 shots, while Isaac Simon dropped 22 for the U of A.
In the women’s game, the Pandas (6-0) won 96-70.
Macaya Copeland led all scorers with 24 for Brandon (3-5), while Kiah Easton-Ihediohanma posted a team-high 21 for Alberta.
The Bobcats host the Regina Cougars this Friday and Saturday.
