The Assiniboine College Cougars swept the University of St. Thomas in a pair of American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 games over the weekend in Vadnais Heights, Minn.

On Saturday in a 2-1 victory, Kasey Fouillard and Jenna Walker had the Cougars goals and Rachel Halldorson made 35 saves. Sydney Ries stopped 32 shots for St. Thomas.

On Friday in a 4-1 win, AC fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but Katie Falkevitch scored twice and Victoria Mann and Jenna Walker added singles in the final 40 minutes. Clair Merckx made 32 saves for AC, with Chloe Golden stopping 34 shots for St. Thomas.

The Cougars were ranked second going into the weekend, with St. Thomas earning the top spot.

They host the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire at the Sportsplex on Saturday at 7:15 p.m., and Sunday at 8:15 a.m.
