• 40 YEARS AGO — Randy Markewich and Nigel Boulton each scored twice to lead Spectrum Sports to a 6-2 South West Hockey League victory over the Elkhorn Canadians.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Shane Kustra notched a hat-trick to power the Minnedosa Bombers to a 7-5 North Central Hockey League win over the Virden Oil Kings. Mark Hewins had two goals for Virden.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Kevin Kirkup’s winning goal with 4:53 remaining in the third period lifted the Brandon Wheat Kings past the Parkland Rangers 6-5 Sunday in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Bennett Dalke had a pair of goals, and Sean Kuehn made 25 saves as the Oil Capitals (16-9-0) won their fourth in a row in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
