• 40 YEARS AGO —Darren Gusdal scored three goals to spark the Minnedosa Bombers, who also got two goals from Dennis Hunt and Kit Harrison in an 11-5 win over Killarney in South West Hockey League play.
• 30 YEARS AGO — The Brandon Wheat Kings stormed from behind for a 6-5 victory over the Swift Current Broncos. Cory Cyrenne paced the Wheat Kings with a pair of goals, while Bobby Brown, Wade Redden, Mike Leclerc and Peter Schaefer each chipped in with singles. Brian Elder made 24 saves in the net.
• 20 YEARS AGO — The Neepawa Natives scored three quick power-play goals in the first period and went on to beat the Swan Valley Stampeders 4-3 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Dylan Halliday had three goals and two assists in Stonewall as the Brandon Wheat Kings defeated the host Interlake Lightning 12-2 in Winnipeg AAA Bantam Hockey League Division 1 play. Ty Thorpe added two goals and three helpers, with Tanner Morrison and Mason Kaspick also finding the back of the net twice.
