• 40 YEARS AGO — Mae McLennan scored single points in seven ends, including the 11th, to upset Myrna Houston 7-6 in Jenkins Carpet Curlettes action at the Wheat City Curling Club.

• 30 YEARS AGO — Kelly Slimmon and Bruce Robinson both scored twice to lead Hamiota Huskies past the Shoal Lake Eagles 9-7 in a North Central Hockey League game. Jay Hodgson, Randy McElroy, Kevin Kirk, Dana Johns and Vaughn Scott also scored for Hamiota.

• 20 YEARS AGO — Ted Fleury fired four goals to lead the Foxwarren Falcons to a 17- 0 thrashing of the Sioux Valley Dakotas in the NorthCentral Hockey League on Friday night. Gord Nickel and former NHLer Pat Falloon added three goals apiece for Foxwarren.

• 10 YEARS AGO — The Dauphin Clippers finished sixth at the Victoria Inn high school hockey tournament in Brandon after falling 6-3 to the Fort Frances Muskies in the Tier 1 Victoria Inn Division’s fifth-place game.
