The Assiniboine College Cougars swept Lake Region State College in American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 action at the Sportsplex on the weekend.
On Sunday morning, Kali Remillard, Abby Dixon and Victoria Mann each scored twice, and Jenna Walker, Kadence Cress, Katie Falkevitch and Isabelle Gottselig added singles in a 10-1 victory.
Rachel Halldorson made 19 saves for AC (9-2-0-0), with Keira Kawula stopping 55 shots for Lake Region.
On Saturday evening, Walker had four goals and two assists, Dixon sniped twice and Kylee Emms-Finnsson, Gottselig, Remillard, Cress and Kasey Fouillard added singles in an 11-3 Cougars rout.
Halldorson made 27 saves for AC, with Mathea Nelson stopping 35 shots for Lake Region, which is located in Devils Lake, N.D.
In the West Region rankings, Assiniboine is first and Lake Region State is 10th. The Cougars head out on their Christmas break and don’t return to action until they visit the Jamestown Jimmies on Jan. 9-10.
