• 40 YEARS AGO — The Kenton Cougars dumped the Miniota Night Hawks 7-3 in a North Central Hockey League game. Dwayne Kent and Daryle McLaughlin scored two goals each for the Cougars.
• 30 YEARS AGO — The Hamiota Huskies downed the Rivers Rams 6-1 in Westman High School Hockey League action. Wayne Kirk and Bryce Patterson both scored twice to spark the hosts. Jason Graham and Travis Goertzen added singles for the Huskies.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Curtis Seafoot scored four times as the Wawanesa Jets hammered the Crystal City 49ers 8-1 in the Tiger Hills Hockey League.
• 10 YEARS AGO — The Brandon Wheat Kings ended a three-game Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League slide with a 1-0 win over the Southwest Cougars in Souris. Chipper Osiname scored the Wheaties lone goal while Max Paddock made 20 saves for the shutout as Brandon improved to 12-11-0-1.
