• 40 YEARS AGO — The Cartwright Clippers blasted the Deloraine Royals 13-1 in a South West Hockey League game. Clint Haight, Cory Dobbelaere, Brent Vincent and Daryl Lamb each scored twice for the Clippers.

• 20 YEARS AGO — The Portage Terriers scored three power-play goals on six chances in handing the Neepawa natives a 5-1 defeat in Manitoba Junior Hockey League action. Jeremy Dawes, Jordan McIntyre and Chris Reykdal all scored with the man advantage.

• 10 YEARS AGO — The Brandon University men’s basketball squad kept it close through three quarters, but the Lakehead Thunderwolves used an 18-8 fourth-quarter run to open the 49th annual Wesmen Classic with a 72-64 win.
