Brandon’s Cole Temple is on the move again.

The 18-year-old forward and 17-year-old defenceman Cameron Dillard of Flower Mound, Texas were acquired by the Red Deer Rebels from the Everett Silvertips on Friday for 18-year-old defenceman Luke Vlooswyk of Calgary and a fifth-round pick in 2027.

In 163 career games with Everett and the Regina Pats, Temple has 70 points, including nine in 34 games this season.

The Rebels also made two other moves on Friday.

• They sent 19-year-old defenceman Keith McInnis of Red Deer County to the Kelowna Rockets for 17-year-old forward Kalder Varga of Geneva, Ill., a third-round pick in 2028 and a sixth-round pick in 2026 (via Spokane).

• The Rebels sent 18-year-old forward Matthew Gard of Winnipeg to the Seattle Thunderbirds for 17-year-old forward Cameron Kuzma of St. Albert, Alta., a third-round pick in 2028, a conditional fourth-round pick in 2028 and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2029.

In other league news, the American Hockey League’s Calgary Wranglers have reassigned overage forward Andrew Basha of Calgary to the Medicine Hat Tigers for the rest of the 2025-26 season. He has 184 points in 201 regular season games over four seasons.

That means the Tigers will have to move one of their three existing overagers, which include forwards Ethan Neutens and Misha Volotovskii and defenceman Josh Van Mulligen.

Tigers defenceman Bryce Pickford was named WHL player of the month for December after scoring four goals and adding eight assists in nine games.

Brandon Wheat Kings netminder Filip Ruzicka, 17, is goalie of the month after going 7-0-0-0 with a 1.42 goals-against average, .955 save percentage and one shutout.

The rookie of the month is 18-year-old Calgary Hitmen forward Kale Dach, who had eight goals and six assists in nine games.
