• 40 YEARS AGO — Sylvia Deleurme scored 16 points to lead the Boissevain Broncos to a 56-53 victory over the Virden Golden Bears in Zone 9 varsity girls’ basketball action. The Broncos also got 14 points from Roxanne Heide.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Matt Johnston’s hat-trick helped the Wawanesa Jets edge the MacGregor Bisons 7-5 in Tiger Hills Hockey League action. Shane Wilton, Rusty Lawrence, Rob Fleming and Allan Johnson also scored for the hosts.
