The Assiniboine College Cougars had another productive trip to Wisconsin, winning three games in a busy weekend of American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 action at Altoona Sports Center in Eau Claire. On Saturday morning, Veronica Smarz and Kasey Fouillard both scored twice and Katie Falkevitch, Montana Jubenvill and Brooke Cyr added singles in a 7-1 victory over University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.

The Assiniboine College Cougars had another productive trip to Wisconsin, winning three games in a busy weekend of American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s Division 2 action at Altoona Sports Center in Eau Claire. On Saturday morning, Veronica Smarz and Kasey Fouillard both scored twice and Katie Falkevitch, Montana Jubenvill and Brooke Cyr added singles in a 7-1 victory over University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.

Clair Merckx earned the win in net.

On Saturday evening, Kylee Emms-Finnsson and Jubenvill both scored twice and Smarz, Hailey Sitter, Lexi Remillard, Jenna Walker and Kadence Cress dented the twine once in a 9-3 win over North Dakota State University.

Payton Zubec earned the win in net.

On Sunday, the Cougars emerged with a hard-fought 5-3 victory over University of Wisconsin Madison. Emms-Finnsson led the way with a goal and two assists, while Cyr, Walker, Fouillard and Falkevitch also sniped. Victoria Mann had two assists.

Zubec earned the win in net.

The Cougars, who are 20-2 and currently on a 16-game winning streak, have three games left in the season.

North Dakota State University visits the Sportsplex on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m., and then Assiniboine finishes up with a home series against the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks, on Saturday, Feb. 28 in Bottineau and at the Sportsplex on Sunday, March 1 at 1:15 p.m.
