Former Brandon College star athlete Verda McDonald has died.
McDonald was not only enshrined on the Brandon University Sports Wall of Fame, it was named after her and her late husband, Dick.
McDonald competed in track and field and basketball for the Brandon College Capettes, and is in the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame with the YMCA Basketball Queens.
She was a cheerleader at the college as well, and later coached the track, basketball and cheer teams.
McDonald later taught in both Brandon and Dauphin, and remained involved with the BU Alumni Association.
