• 60 YEARS AGO— The Deloraine Wheat Kings won the opening series of the provincial Junior B hockey playoffs by defeating Rivers 6-4. Marv Robinson and Jack Borotsik each fired a pair of goals to lead Deloraine scorers. Bruce Bonk and Don Snyder accounted for the remaining goals.
• 50 YEARS AGO — The Foxwarren Falcons whipped the Russell Rams 9-5 to take a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five playoff NorthCentral Hockey League playoff series. Carl Haney and Greg Little scored three goals apiece to lead the Falcons.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Stacy Pratt scored four goals to lead the Sioux Valley Dakotas to a 10-7 victory over the Shoal Lake Eagles in a North Central Hockey League playoff game,
• 30 YEARS AGO — Kerri Eastley scored 21 points to pace the Neelin Spartans past the Crocus PLiansmen 47-38 in a Westman High School Basketball League semifinal. Lacey Ewasiuk was the top scorer for Crocus Plains with 18 points.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Bryan Kauk snapped a 15-game scoring drought but the Brandon Wheat Kings fell 4-3 to the Prince Albert Raiders in a shootout in Western Hockey League action.
• 10 YEARS AGO — The Brandon Wheat Kings gave up a pair of goals in the third period as the Prince Albert Raiders came from behind for a 3-2 victory at the Art Hauser Centre on Sunday.
