• 60 YEARS AGO— Norman Walker won the aggregate in the Sinclair open curling bonspiel. His rink featured Frank Nash, Sheila Nash and Elsie Kabbelle.
• 50 YEARS AGO — Donna Greiner’s 10 points led Vincent Massey to a 34-11 win over New Era in a Brandon Junior High basketball league game. Donna Higgs had six points for New Era.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Bernie Martine scored two goals to lead the Brandon University Bobcats to a 7-5 win over the University of Manitoba Bisons in Canada West University Athletic Association hockey action. Also scoring for BU were Terry Kurtenbach, Rick Lindquist, Peter Gerlinger, Greg Waldvogal and Tim Lenardon.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Jenn Crookshanks scored 18 points to lead the Neelin Spartans to a 38-36 triumph over the host Vincent Massey Vikings in a Grade 9 high school girls’ basketball game. Erin Kille topped Massey scorers with 14 points.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Tyler Dittmer scored the overtime winner as the Brandon Wheat Kings beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-4 in Western Hockey League action.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Sam Geekie of Strathclair joined Westman Wildcats defenceman Kaitlyn Crowe and Central Plains forward Chelsea Hallson in the University of Regina Cougars women’s hockey recruit class.
