Russell’s Merrick Huberdeau scored twice to lead Team West No. 1 into the gold-medal game at the Manitoba Games in Thompson on Tuesday.

Dane Yeomans and Emmett Murray added singles while Beckham Koscielny made 26 saves in a 4-2 victory over Winnipeg Gold.

In the quarterfinals earlier Tuesday, Murray, Huberdeau, Kolten Euper, Buck Oldcorn and Grady Hay scored in West’s 5-2 triumph over South No. 1.

West No. 1 faces East in the gold-medal game today at 11 a.m. East won its semifinal 6-2 over South No. 2 Team West No. 2 lost 4-3 to South No. 2 in the quarterfinals, despite Luke Hrappstead of Dauphin netting a hat trick, with two goals assisted by Beckett Bileski and Carter Hazlewood.

West No. 2 was still on the ice at press time during its consolation semifinal against North.

Tuesday’s results:

• ALPINE SKIING — At Mystery Mountain Winter Park, Seth Logan of Olha earned a silver medal for Team West in U16/18 male slalom, completing his runs in 24.63 seconds and 22.14 for a total of 46.77, behind Winnipeg Blue’s Ben Render (43.44).

Team West’s Owen Biglieni of Brandon won bronze in the U14 male event, posting 27.46 and 27.07 for a total of 54.53, while South’s Jake Griffith won at 47.58.

• ARCHERY — Brandon’s Nevaeh Sierens won the female compound gold medal, defeating East’s Alyssa Thomas 134-126 in the final at R.D. Parker Collegiate.

West’s Sam Champan edged East’s Theo Salem 139-135 in the male compound final.

In the female recurve, Brandon’s Brielle VanDaele won gold with an overall score of 477.

On the male side, Brandon Farquhar of Brandon claimed gold at 473.

In the female barebow, Brandon’s Rhianna Windsor reached the final and claimed a silver medal, with Brandon’s Jack Reeves claiming gold on the male side.

• CURLING — West No. 1, featuring Carberry’s Abbey Snowden, Gemma McLeod, Tegan Graham and Sabrina Graham, beat East 7-5 to reach today’s gold-medal game.

West No. 2, including Ella Stewart, Kolby Gerelus, Julianna Phillips and Brooke Unrau, fell 8-5 to South 2 and will play for bronze.

On the boys’ side, West No. 2’s Jaxon Stanley, Cruz Dueck, Reid Jackson and Luke Malazdrewicz edged South No. 2 9-8 with three points in the 10th end, and will face Winnipeg Gold for gold today.

• GYMNASTICS — McCreary’s Reagan Zalluski finished second in the age 12-13 Level 4 all-around competition, scoring 35.550, less than two points behind Winnipeg Blue’s Faith Bunguke.

In the age 14-17 Level 4 all-around, Grandview’s Meadow Vigini finished third at 34.150, behind Winnipeg Gold’s Myla Smith (35.125).

In the U14-17 Level 3 all-around, Avie Wilson of Minnedosa earned silver at 35.325, less than a point back of Winnipeg Gold’s Callie Dickens (36.225).
