• 40 YEARS AGO — Darren Gusdal and Kit Harrison each scored twice as the Minnedosa Bombers downed the Boissevain Border Kings 7-4 to even their best-of-five South West Hockey League quarter-final at 1-1.

• 30 YEARS AGO — Dan Sims scored four goals and Dale Isfeld had a goal and four assists as the Neepawa Natives dumped the Portage Terriers 7-4 in Game 2 of the best-of-seven Manitoba Junior Hockey League Allard Division semifinal. Ryan Ogilvie and Kori Pearson had the other goals for the winners.

• 20 YEARS AGO — Mark Willis scored 11:11 into overtime as the Minnedosa Bombers beat the Roblin North Stars 4-3 Sunday in the NorthCentral Hockey League. Scott Thompson scored twice for the Bombers and set up the winner by Willis. Brent Madill rounded out the Minnedosa scoring.

• 10 YEARS AGO — Brandon Wheat Kings forward Jayce Hawryluk was honoured as the Western Hockey League’s player of the week. The five-foot-10, 194-pound Roblin product, who turned 20 in January, recorded 16 points while helping the Wheat Kings win four games. Those points came from 10 goals and six assists.
